A bit about me:
Gyungsun Im, a native of Korea, is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Bassoon Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Colorado at Boulder under the guidance of Dr. Yoshiyuki Ishikawa. She received a bachelor’s degree at the Ewha Womans University in Seoul, and a master’s degree at CU Boulder. An active orchestral performer, Gyungsun has served as the principal bassoonist of the Seoul Royal Orchestra, the Gwacheon Youth Orchestra, and the Lindenbaum Festival Orchestra under Charles Dutoit. She has performed as a soloist with the Ehwa Womans University and the Koreanische Flute Orchestra. Gyungsun is the member of the Korean Bassoon Society and performed with the KBS at the Sejong Center. Her masterclass teachers include Judith LeClair, Barrick Stees, Carlo Colombo, and John Clouser. Gyungsun is currently second bassoonist of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra in Colorado and a member of the CU Boulder Graduate Woodwind Quintet.
